What was the last thing that you've done that you could've failed at? I was asked this recently at a PD on restorative practice with 'Real Schools' and I immediately thought: I'm still doing it- writing my novel! We were then asked: What were you telling yourself at the time in order to do it? What I'm telling myself right now as I make the last edits on my middle grade fiction novel before sending it off to publishers is something like this: So what if I don't hear back from any of them, I'll just write another book. It's learning the process of writing a book that's been such an incredible thing. Of course, I'd be overjoyed to get published but I don't want to get too fixated on the outcome. I know the saying is a bit of a cliche but it really is about the journey rather than the destination.

I'll be overjoyed if you get published too!
